This kitchen measures a miniscule 4.8 square metres but incorporates everything needed in a family kitchen. Despite having only one bank of full-size kitchen cupboards, we managed to accommodate a fan oven, gas hob, extractor fan, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and boiler in a 225cm gap. Pulling down the ceiling to create a sloping roof with skylight allows for taller wall cupboards and increased storage. A feature was made of the client’s collection of dinnerware and ceramics by utilising an old German medicine cabinet, relocated to the dining area just outside the kitchen.
